Project Description

Project Description

This interior transformation took place in a 2,000-square-foot home in Broomfield, Colorado, just off Main Street and 120th. The homeowner reached out to Elements Painting Inc. for a complete interior repaint and refinishing of major features before listing the property for rent. Our job was to paint the walls, trim, ceilings, doors, cabinets, and hand railings—a full-scope refresh that touched nearly every interior surface.

The job also required some light repairs. Cabinet hardware needed adjustment and replacement, and the handrail had heavy scratches and gouges that needed to be sanded and patched before painting. We completed the entire project in just four days, and the final result brought a crisp, clean feel to every room.

The full project cost was $11,400, which included labor, prep, repairs, and all premium materials. For a homeowner preparing a rental property for higher-end tenants, this was a practical investment in long-term appeal and durability.

Background Story

The homeowner, a single mother of three, was preparing to move her family to Texas. Her goal was to turn this Broomfield property into a passive income stream, but before she could do that, she needed the home looking clean, modern, and well-cared-for.

She was shopping around for a professional crew to take on the work and told us she ultimately chose Elements Painting Inc. because of our professionalism, responsiveness, and fair pricing. Other estimates came in higher without offering more detail or added value. From the beginning, she was clear: she wanted everything done right—and done quickly—so she could list the home without delay.

When we walked the property with her, it was clear the place had good bones but needed polish. The cabinets had visible wear, a few hinges were loose, and the hand rail looked beat up from years of daily use. The paint colors felt dated, and the walls needed freshening up before potential tenants walked through the door.

We listened carefully, developed a plan, and got to work.

Scope of Services

  • Initial Walkthrough & Planning: Walked through the property with the client to identify surface damage, color goals, and finish requirements.

  • Wall, Ceiling & Trim Painting: Painted all walls in matte finish and ceilings in flat white. Applied pearl finish to trim, doors, and casing for contrast and durability.

  • Cabinet Repair & Refinishing: Repaired loose hinges and minor drawer issues. Prepped and painted kitchen and bathroom cabinets with high-performance urethane enamel.

  • Hand Rail Restoration: Sanded down deep scratches and gouges. Filled damaged areas with Bondo, sanded smooth, and painted over for a seamless finish.

  • Color Matching & Paint Application: Used client-approved Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams colors and finishes, applying multiple coats as needed for full coverage.

  • Cleanup & Final Review: Cleaned all surfaces, removed masking, and walked the home with the client to ensure satisfaction.

Products Used

  • Ben Moore Regal Matte – Abalone 2108-60: Used on interior walls throughout the home for a soft, neutral foundation.

  • Ben Moore Regal Pearl – OC 150 (White): Applied to trim, doors, and ceiling trim for clean, durable contrast.

  • Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Satin – Custom Colors: Cabinets were refinished in Lacey Pearl (2108-70) and Heather Gray (2139-40) using a satin urethane enamel for durability in high-traffic areas.

  • Bondo Wood Filler & Sanding Tools: Used on hand rail to smooth damaged wood before refinishing.

  • High-quality rollers, brushes, and sprayers: Used to ensure a smooth, professional finish across all surfaces.

Results

By the end of day four, the house looked completely refreshed. The walls felt modern and clean. The trim popped against the wall color with a subtle sheen. The kitchen cabinets looked like they had been replaced, not just refinished, and the previously damaged hand rail was now smooth and uniform.

The homeowner was thrilled with the outcome. She mentioned how the clean look and professional finish would help her attract quality tenants, and she was relieved the project stayed on schedule. She also noted she chose Elements Painting Inc. because we didn’t upsell—we just got the work done right.

This job is a great example of how strategic upgrades can transform a space without major remodeling. Elements Painting Inc. gave this home a fresh start—ready for renters, move-in, or resale.
